On Monday, Leicester Crown Court learned call records and data retrieved from phones logged Ms Wandelt persistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a genetic test during that period.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - when she was three years old during a trip in Portugal - is among the most publicized missing child cases and is still unsolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

Another recorded message, presented in court, documented Ms Wandelt declaring: "I know I'm heavy and plain like Madeleine was, but I know what I believe."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's voicemail said: "What if there is a small chance that I am she? What happens next? Isn't that crucial for you?"

"I don't want money, I maintain a existence here in Poland, I simply desire to discover," she added.

The jury was advised that by means of electronic messages, SMS messages and communications, Ms Wandelt asked for a DNA test, transmitted early photographs to her phone in a attempt to display a likeness to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and claimed to have "memories" from a early life with the McCanns.

The investigator, an intelligence analyst with Leicestershire Police who collated the evidence, told the court there "seemed to lack any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore communicated with close associates of the McCanns, based on the communication logs.

On that date, the father picked up a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "the wrong phone."

During that incident Ms Wandelt deposited a voicemail on Mrs McCann's answerphone stating "I won't give up and I will prove my position."

The court heard the co-defendant developed a relationship online with Ms Wandelt preceding joining her on a visit to the McCanns' residence in Leicestershire in December 2024.

Call logs showed Mrs Spragg had communicated via messaging service to Mrs McCann to state the news outlets had depicted Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she deserved to be taken seriously in the time before the appearance to that location, Leicestershire, in last December.

The court heard communications between the two accused, in November 2024, discussing attempting to obtain Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her trash or from silverware at a restaurant.

"We have to assert ourselves," Mrs Spragg informed Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the appearance to their home, Mrs Spragg transmitted a communication which stated: "We are sat adjacent to the McCanns' residence with our lights out resembling private investigators. I desired to achieve this with someone else I never thought I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The trial continues.
