American-Palestinian Adolescent Released Following Nine Months in Israeli Custody

A Palestinian-American youth after completing a nine-month period in Israeli detention without charge gained freedom.

Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old at the time of his arrest this past winter within the occupied West Bank, while he was vacationing on holiday from Florida accused of stone-throwing at Jewish settlers, which he previously denied.

The US state department expressed satisfaction with Mohammed's liberation.

Currently aged sixteen, was taken to hospital upon gaining freedom, relatives told the media.

They said he is visibly pale and thin, and is suffering from conditions contracted in captivity.

In a statement, family spokesperson conveyed their "tremendous relief".

Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"At this moment, our priority is getting Mohammed prompt healthcare necessary for his recovery after being subjected to Israel's abuse and inhumane conditions over several months."

US officials stated they would maintain to extend consular services for the Ibrahim family.

{"The Trump Administration has no higher priority to the protection and welfare of US citizens"," it added.

Several congressional representatives endorsed a document to the state department and President Donald Trump, requesting additional efforts for his freedom.

Mohammed's parent, a father-of-four who runs an ice cream business based in Tampa, had earlier stated Mohammed acknowledged allegations about rock throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.

He had not seen nor direct contact since the arrest, learning information solely about his son's condition through judicial records.

He stayed lacking indictment in Ofer prison throughout the occupied territory.

Additionally housing mature inmates, some of whom have been convicted regarding severe security violations and murder.

Approximately 350 Palestinian child security detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Several lack formal charges and human rights groups, including UN bodies, say some have suffered physical abuse and torture.

After the teenager's freedom, family representatives announced they would maintain their efforts for justice for his cousin their cousin Sayfollah.

The dual national youth according to health authorities died from beating by settlement residents following tensions last July.

During that period, defense forces stated they were examining reports a Palestinian civilian had died.

Mohammed and Sayfollah were employed together at their family's ice cream business in Tampa, Florida.

No one has been charged regarding Sayfollah's death.

"We anticipate US authorities to protect our families," family representatives emphasized.
