Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025 Golden Joystick Ceremony

The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards took place recently, and through an impressive show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. This standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive secured the coveted Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Outstanding Narrative and Excellence in Visuals.

Adding to the studio's achievements, its gifted cast also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English won Top Lead Actor for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Actor for his role as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio was named Studio of the Year. Overall, Clair Obscur and its makers won seven awards during the ceremony.

Other notable winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Outstanding Audio and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Top Self-Published Indie and Premier PC Title. Notably, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the public, with only 4 categories—Critics Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by experts.
