Dominant Aryna Sabalenka Claims Consecutive WTA Top Player Awards.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second straight season.

The 27-year-old captured four tournament victories – the most on tour – which included successfully defending the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth Grand Slam singles title.

A Year of Dominance

Throughout the year, Sabalenka competed in a tour-best nine finals, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the whole season as the world number one, concluding 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.

This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Historic Statistics

Sabalenka concluded the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and earned a record £11m in earnings.

She earned almost eighty percent of the votes submitted by global tennis journalists.

Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "raise women's tennis to a greater prominence".

Additional WTA Award Recipients

• Comeback Player of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, 28, received the award after taking 13-month break after the arrival of her first child and returning to the sport earlier this season.
• Fresh Face of the Year: Canadian 19-year-old Victoria Mboko was honored with the award after beginning the season positioned beyond the world's top 300 and soaring to the eighteenth spot.
• Partnership of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were selected after capturing their second career Grand Slam title together.
• Biggest Leap of the Year: Amanda Anisimova was named after advancing to five finals.

Recently, Carlos Alcaraz secured three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, which included the year-end number one award, while Jannik Sinner was voted fans' favourite for a third time.
