Ariana Grande visited Singapore for the regional debut of Wicked: For Good

Loyal supporters of Ariana Grande are calling for that a man who jumped a barrier and grabbed the celebrity during yesterday's Wicked: For Good premiere be taken into custody or deported from Singapore.

A viral clip shows the individual from Australia pushing past photographers and rushing toward Grande while the cast made its way down a promenade flanked by supporters.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being led away of the event by event staff.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "released after being detained", though legal records indicated that he was scheduled to attend court on the next day. It is not clear if he was charged.

Pattern of Disruptions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a concert or event. His Instagram feed includes clips of him disrupting other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney concert in June this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers event in the city last winter.

"Measures must be taken applied against him as this is evidently a legal violation," commented an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen posted of his act.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user remarked.

Supporters Show Disapproval Over the Star's Well-being

Many supporters accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the conclusion of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring numerous individuals.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said a further comment on Instagram.

Several attendees also faulted guards at the premiere for not being sufficiently alert; while others demanded digital services to remove Mr Wen's videos.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In footage circulating online, Grande looked shocked when she was touched by the individual. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by security.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.

Numerous of attendees had gathered in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional premiere in a Singapore venue, including several who had queued for as long as eight hours before it commenced.

The movie, to be premiered on 21 November, is the second of a two-part version of the popular Broadway and West End show Wicked, which centers on the surprising friendship between two very different witches.

The production itself is a spin-off of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the good witch Glinda, was decked out in a light pink glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who plays the Elphaba, wore a elegant ensemble embroidered with roses.

They were joined by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the top-earning movie of last year in the UK, and received ten award recognitions, earning several for best costume and production design.
