Fulham Begin Powerfully to Beat Tottenham and Increase Pressure on Frank
Spurs fans who booed goalkeeper Vicario were told later "they can't be real Spurs supporters" by boss Frank.
Tottenham conceded a pair of scores in the opening initial moments to fall 2-1 to Fulham, registering their tenth Premier League at home loss of 2025.
But the primary talking point was the visitors' second score when the keeper lost the ball far beyond his area.
He came out to deal with a high pass and carried the ball towards the sideline.
But, rather than booting it out of play, the Italian spun and tried to clear away, but lost his footing as the ball skimmed off Harry Wilson and was collected by King.
The forward laid the ball off to Wales midfielder Harry Wilson, who bent a strike into the net from the touchline recorded at thirty-six point six metres.
Seconds later when the ball came to the keeper once more, a number of Tottenham supporters jeered him.
The team were booed off at the interval, with the club 2-0 down, and again at full-time.
A particular of those jeering episodes really angered Frank.
"It came to my attention some of our fans reportedly booed the incident and booed following, which, in my opinion is completely unjustifiable," the Danish manager commented about the supporters' reaction to his shot-stopper.
"Those individuals can't be real Tottenham fans that act that way. Alright booing following the game, no problem, but when we are playing, we are backing each other, we are behind one another going forward."
Kenny Tete had given Fulham a fourth-minute advantage before Harry Wilson's goal – with Mohammed Kudus scoring for Tottenham in an better second period performance.
Former top-flight goalkeeper Joe Hart remarked that the next goal was "totally avoidable".
"I do appreciate the supporters' disappointment," Hart continued. "I am aware the part the keeper is performing. He's a excellent team player, he is a true leader in the locker room but ultimately you are going to be judged by your decisions.
"He was deeply implicated in what turned out to be the winning score."
Thomas Frank Defended His Goalkeeper Vicario After the Game
Italy international the keeper is in his 3rd campaign with Tottenham.
The 29-year-old said following the match that he had to accept the feedback.
"That score was a error of my own, I accept accountability for it," he said.
"The intent was to clear the ball far and I just struck the ball in a poor manner. It was an more difficult mountain to overcome."
He said being booed "is part of football".
"I'm a big man, how can I respond?" he added. "We can't be influenced by the situation in the stands. Supporters have the entitlement to do what they think.
"It is on the team to remain increasingly composed, to focus on our own performance. The team is missing in composure and calmness to overturn outcomes. This match is a poor loss and it's tough to take."
In spite of Vicario's error, it was far from an simple goal for Wilson to score.
Actually it was the next most distant top division score of the campaign – after Adams' forty-three point three metre strike for the Cherries against the Black Cats, which interestingly too occurred on Saturday.
Wilson stated he was "somewhat taken aback" that he still had an empty goal to target.
Ten seconds elapsed between the keeper coming out of his area and Wilson shooting – which was 5 seconds after the clearance.
"I felt like the keeper was out of the box for ages," Wilson said.
"I was surprised not one of the back four went back to the goal line. When none of them covered the goal, my interest lit up a bit.
"Udogie slipped as well, which gave me a little additional opportunity. After that it was all about trying to make the correct connection and get it towards goal. I felt a good feeling, the moment it came off my boot, that it was heading in."
Jeering While We Are Still in Play Is Totally Unjustifiable - the Manager
Although the keeper's mistake dominated coverage, this was an all-round poor performance for Spurs to continue their home ground struggles.
This was their 10th at home loss of the year in the Premier League, a shared team record matching 1994 and 2003.
They still have home games against Frank's old side Brentford and title holders the Reds to come before the close of the season.
Just a single of those wins have occurred after Frank replaced his predecessor in the off-season.
"If you are down 2-0 following the opening, there is a mountain to overcome," said the boss.
"During in a poor run, everything seems to go against you too – the first was a redirected shot, the next is a error from the keeper.
"The outcome puts us in a position where we have lost another match. Every game has a single narrative, today we lost in the first six minutes.
"We simply need to keep working. The second half was much better and with luck an aspect we can utilize to develop."
Spurs have lost four consecutive home capital clashes for the initial time in the Premier League.
And they are averaging nine point five attempts and three point two shots on target per match in the Premier League – their poorest rates on record in a one season (dating back to 2003-04).
Ex- Fulham midfielder Murphy stated that the manager has to endure the criticism.
"He's got take the stick," Murphy said. "He has accepted a prestigious role at a major team with enormous anticipation. There is pressure and responsibility that accompanies that.
"Their showings at their stadium have been disappointing and they have to improve {quickly|
