Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge comes as the boxing community had expressed condolences for the fighter in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
